My is in french. I have created a page "Accueil" and a child page named "présentation".

The problem is that the url http://www.mysite.com/Accueil/Présentation/tabid/175/Default.aspx is not found. And curious, the url http://www.mysite.com/Accueil/Presentation/tabid/175/Default.aspx is well founded and running fine.

In the table tabPath, I have "//Accueil//Présentation".

On my localhost, and on another website, from which I have upload my page, all is fine.

Anybody an idea?

Hmmm, I've never messed with IIS and different cultures, I'm wondering if perhaps IIS isn't handling the character the same on the different sites?

By default, most browsers cannot use non-ascii characters in url, please refer to w3c.

Correct, I think the URL recommendations are letters, digits, and hyphen--nothing else.  Accents and other characters could be dropped by the browser, firewall, or any numbers of other processors along the way...

If you are using foreign characters in the URL, you should disable the output of the tabPath (you can still use friendly URLs)

To disable the tabPath being outputted to the URL, open up web.config and look for the following in the friendly url provider definition:

includePageName="true"

change it to:

includePageName="false"

This feature was added quite a while ago, as some countries like China have characters for page names that are not applicable for URLs.
