Is there  a way to rename the DNN Administrators role??  I have AD synchronization working, but it is synchronizing the AD Administrators group into the DNN Administrator Role.

I really need some type of workaround for this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I'm having the same problem. I'd be happy to make a core change as temporary workaround but it's not documented that well. I've seen a couple other posts with the same problem. Surely someone has a way around it.... right?

I'm beginning to think support of this module is only for that new benefactor program, hope it aint so.

No.  It ain't so.

This issue is simply that very few of us use this functionality or know a great deal about it, so the coverage is thin.  However this functionality is very widely used... we wonder where all the community support does sometimes :(

Sorry I am not able to help you with this one.

I have some SQL that I use to rename roles in general... but I've honestly never tried it with the Administrators role.  Hypothetically... it should work.  But its not a case that has been tested, to my knowledge.  As you can see, this does not take care of those modules which may also store Role information in the old fashioned way ( using delimited text strings ).

DECLARE @Old nvarchar(255)
DECLARE @New nvarchar(255)

SET @Old = 'Old.Role'
SET @New = 'New.Role'

BEGIN TRAN
 update roles
  set rolename = @New where rolename = @Old

 update aspnet_roles
  set rolename = @New, loweredrolename = lower(@New)
  where rolename = @Old
COMMIT TRAN
