We are trying to implement our own Membership Provider so that the information corresponding to members is fetched from the Active directory. The rest of the information regarding the portal is stored in SQL database

The motive is to authenticate the user against the LDAP and rest of data will be stored in the SQL database.

We are using DNN version 4.3.5.

What are the difficulties that we might face?or is there any other approach that we can make use of to acheive the above.

Any reason you don't upgrade to 4.5.3 instead of using a version that is over a year old?

If you follow the directions in the pinned post at the top of the forum you "shouldn't" have any problems. I put shouldn't in quotes because there are a ton of variables that might cause problems depending on your network setup. The best that I can suggest is to install IIS and DNN on a test machine and go from there. If you run into problems then post on the forum and someone should be able to help you out.
