I followed the sticky and got autologin to work with AD and DNN for the most part. However, both USERNAME and DOMAIN/USERNAME are allowed:

"DOMAIN/Jason Honingford" -- created when you autologin
"Jason Honingford" -- created when you login manually

So two separate user accounts are created....

What version of DNN are you using? I haven't seen that happen before.

DNN 4.5.1

To sum up: IIS *is* pulling info from the Active Directory and automatically creating new DNN accounts, but the problem is that it creates "domain/username" as a username when auto-login works and then if you login manually a second account with just "username" is created, pulling the same AD info, resulting in duplicate accounts.

Other problems are:

1. I get a Windows login prompt a lot of times, and it will go to the windows page WindowsSignin.aspx that we secure in IIS. It happens even with the site added to the intranet zone.

2. We use an app from Citrix to remote past our firewall. Even though the environment uses AD and you are logged in, it does not auto-login.

We are still in the process of testing. Would it be faster to get a 3rd party module? My client doesn't want to spend a lot of time on this, but I'm intrigued DNN finally has AD support! Great job!

I'll have to do some stepping through the code to see if I can recreate it.

Things are going to change a great deal on the Authenication front with DNN 4.6 with the separation of AD provider code and the addition of OpenID and LiveID.

I'll upgrade DNN monday and post anything new I find, maybe I've found a couple new configurations to add to the sticky/FAQ. Thanks!
