Hi --

I'm planning on implementing a DNN 4.5.3 portal for a school's extranet. Basically, I'm wondering if there is a way to map DNN's roles to users organized by OU in AD. For example:

User is in Students OU in AD -> User is a "Subscriber"
User is in Faculty OU in AD -> User is a "Registered User"

This is basically so I can delegate who can update modules, post announcements, update calendars, etc...

So my question is, is this possible? If so, how difficult is it?

Thanks,

N.

It's possible but you'd have to change the code so that could be done. Currently (and initially for DNN 4.6) AD Security Groups and DNN Roles can be synchronized so if there's a particular group that each belongs to you could create a corresponding role in DNN and users will be automatically put into that role when they sign in.
