Hiya, i have just stumbled onto DNN and have set it up as my intranet page. i have followed all the guides and gotten AD "apparently" working. I can login as a AD user with domain\username and their password and it logs me on fine.

The problem i am having is to do with groups and roles etc. I was of the understanding that once i AD user has logged on once they then have a DNN user created that you can then assign to roles, if so this is not happening for me the person logs on, i go to check out the user accounts and it is completely blank no users, even though i have tried and successfully logged in as various users. Also i thought that the AD module would bring over the AD groups, this doesnt appear to be happening either. But the AD is definately working as i said as i can log onto the site.

If anybody can please help me out thatd be great or point me in the right direction.

Easy answer first: Groups. No it doesn't bring the groups over automatically. What it will do (if synchronized is checked) is automatically add users to a group if they belong to the same group in the AD. Eg. You've got a Sales group in the AD. If you create a Sales group in DNN any users that belong to the AD Sales group will automatically be added to the DNN Sales group.

Now on to the other problem you're having. Try clicking on All to show the accounts. By default it won't show any (that's a DNN thing not an AD thing). I thought this was going to be the difficult answer until I went to my Dev site to test something and was reminded of how it worked. It's second nature for me to click All that I didn't even think of it when I read your post originally.
