Yay... Take Me to the Community!

Welcome to the DNN Community Forums, your preferred source of online community support for all things related to DNN.

Specifics: DNN 4.7 with AD Authentication, VS2005, SQL Server 2005

I want to know who is logging in to DNN and where it is stored or how to store it as I have a custom program to be set up to look at the login information and pass some parameters.  For instance when userA logs in I need their specifics (userid) passed to an SQL query in order to bring information up specific to them.  I would rather not have to create 100 different reports and 100 different security groups for each person but rather programatically hammer this out.  I am assuming this is possible but still pretty new to DNN.

Thanks

Recently on a non-DNN project we resolved this issue by storing the Username (or whatever) in a static variable accessible by anything and almost everywhere.

But, there may be another approach as well. I haven't played around with DNN using Windows authentication much, but theoretically if DNN isn't different than other situations then when you login with a Windows User account, those credentials are the security context for any database queries.

Maybe your problem is already solved!
