Hi,

I've followed the instruction for installing the AD provider (ActiveDirectory_01.00.02_Install.zip) on DNN 4.7 but seen to have missed something as DNN is not auto logging me in via AD when I launch dnn (http://myserver/Default.aspx).

Also when I go directly to the WindowsSignin.aspx page  (http://myserver/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx)

my server is redirected to the following URL (http://myserver/Home/tabid/237/logon/633379214364730388/Default.aspx)

but I still see the login control and there as been no user account created in DNN.

Any ideas on which step I did not do correctly?

The Enabled setting is checked under DotNetNuke Authentication Settings and Active Directory Settings

if I don't check the enablerd for DotNetNuke Authentication Settings  I get the following error
No providers are enabled - the standard DotNetNuke Authentication provider will be used

On update setting I get a confirmation that LDAP, root domain, Global Catalog are ok, and it finds my domains.

The Auto-login IP Address is left blank

in the web.config
<httpModules>
.......
<add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory" />
</httpModules>

Many thanks

Your site wouldn't be running on IIS 7 using the DefaultAppPool (Integrated PipelineMode) would it? That is the only setup where I've seen that behaviour and I'm currently in contact with one of the IIS team members to try and find a work-around. I just posted a new beta that will display a warning message if the code detects that environment.

Hi

I seem to be having the same problem.

The users in the domain are not able to Auto-Login i am using the 1.00.03 version of AD Provider.

When i surf to http://intranet/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx it presents me with the windows login box. I am not running IIS 6

Can you please help

Mike, thanks for your response.

I'm using IIS 6. I've created a new AppPool for DNN, but is still using the Network Service account for Identity.

Am I correct in thinking that I should be removing 'Enabled?' check for the DotNetNuke Authentication Settings and check the 'Enabled?' for Active Directory Settings?

Also, regardless of what I enter into the 'Root Domain' (domains that don't exist e.g. DC=disney,DC=world,DC=net ) and update the settings, I always get a 'green ok' and DNN finds all valid domains on my network. is that correct?

cheers

No it isn't. I'll check that out ASAP.

EDIT: I just fired up my test system and couldn't duplicate the All Green message you're getting. Could you tell me a little bit more about your environment (OS, etc).

Oh, and enabling/disabling the default DNN provider is totally up to you.
