I only get the standard login window when I click the Login button. I then enter the admin or super user account and i can't get in. I try my netword domain username and password and that won't let me in either.

Anyway, can you explain to me what the line below means and how to go about making the change?

"Give the user account you use for impersonation the same permissions to your DNN install that the NETWORK SERVICE or ASPNET account has."

I'm not quite sure why it won't log me in if I hit the log out button.

Regards,

Derek

I am now trying a fresh installation of DNN and fresh installation of the AD plugin. I think the last time I did it I did disable the DNN authentication. Should I just leave it as enabled this time?

I only see the one login window and i'm guessing it is the Standard version. I don't see 2 login windows. How do I select the Standard version?

Thank you very much for all your assistance.

Regards,

Derek

Okay I think you did disable the DNN standard login and that's why you can't login with your Host/Admin accounts. I'm just on my way out the door but I'll dig through the database when I get home to see where it's set. My guess is it's probably in the ModuleSettings table and that's where I'll be looking first.

You were right!!!!!!!! Thanks heaps!!

I found the setting in the ModuleSettings table and changed the DNN_Enabled to "True" and now I can log in again with my admin and superuser accounts. Thats a relief! And I can see both the login boxes too. Sweet!

So, now I have to get the AD plugin to work for me so all users across the network can start using the website without logging in. How can I make myself the Administrator using my domain username and password? I want to be able to control the website. Does this mean I have to get the network Administrator to add me to the list of domain Admins?

Thanks for you help.

Regards,

Derek

Glad you found it. Actually having your account made a domain admin won't do any good as the administrator role isn't synchronized. However if you open the Users table in the database and find your user account you can change IsSuperUser to 1 and your account will have Host privledges on the site.
