I am having some issue authenticating via AD on an intermittent basis.  Many times it works perfect but often I receive the message "Login Failed, remember that Passwords are case sensitive" when in fact the username and password are both correct.  The event log displays the following errors:

This one is different. Is it hit and miss or happens at a particular time of day? Are there a number of people logging in around the same time the error appears? Are you using Role synchronization? Just trying to narrow down possible reasons you're running into this.

I just did a quick google on the error (0x80072020). It looks like it might be a permission issue. Are you using impersonation in your web.config?

The problem seems to occur on a hit or miss basis but when it occurs it seems to be when more than one person attempt to log in around the same time.  Role synchronization is enabled.  How permissions are set up in AD any user can read the AD catalog.  Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Derek

Impersonation is set to true in the web.config.
