That error that you posted is generally the error that you get when you're not using impersonation in your web.config.

Do you have any idea what the error was when you tried to uninstall the provider? What error do you get now when you try to install it?

I'll have to go through the provider scripts to see exactly where records are stored in the database and get back to you on where to look to verify that it's totally removed from your install. I'm not near an install that I can easily look at (I'm working in one of our labs today setting up for students next week) but it'll probably be late this evening before I can post it.

If you can give me more detail on the error you're getting when you install (or what you saw when you tried to uninstall) we might be able to get around it.

Hi Mike,

Im facing the exact same issue which is specified in this forum thread.

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/216787/scope/posts/threadpage/5/Default.aspx

When i tried to install the recently released auth provider 1.0.0.4, i got the following error!

Package Installed Successfully

The package installed successfully - see below
Error loading files from temporary folder - see below
StartJob Starting Installation
Failure Package Installation aborted - DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication
Info Deleted temporary install folder
EndJob Installation Failed

Did u provide any solution to this particular issue in the past? I'm scratching my head on this one since this issue happened on the production!

Looking for a solution from you

Thanks in advance

Saran

Saran...do you still have the impersonation line in your web.config uncommented? Maybe try commenting it out again and then trying to install. I'm thinking it may be a file permissions issue.

Still no good! :( Is there a way i can get the latest authentication provider by upgrading the dotnetnuke to latest version.. still keeping the old data and modules?

Thanks,

Saran
