I have just installed dotnetnuke 04.08.04 and the AD Provider 01.00.04.

After install, i could access the site for a PC that had visted the site before.  I had anonymous access and I could log in with DNN credentials and AD credentions.

I moved to a pc that had never visited the dotnetnuke site.  First I got the following error:
Error while Processing Windows Authentication
Check your IIS Settings, /desktopmodules/authenticationservices/activedirectory/windowssignin.aspx should not allow anonymous.

I removed anonymous access to this file in IIS (IIS 6)

After doing so, I get a windows login box when I visit the site.  after i login once with AD credentials, and can log off, re-visit the site, and get anonymous access.

If i clear my cookies, i get the window's login box again when i initially visit the site.

I am really wanting all users (anonymous) to be able to visit the site initially without logging in, then have the option to log in, with DNN OR AD creditials.

Is this possible?

Yes sir and it's covered in the documentation. The quick way to do it for all users (internal and external) is to comment out all of the <add name="Authentication..... /> in the <httpModules> section of your web.config. That will stop the provider from being called and the redirect to WindowsSignin.aspx won't happen. Then when users click on Login they'll have to choose between DNN and Windows Signin to log onto the portal.
