Here is my setup in case it is pertinent.

Version of DNN: 04.09.00

Version of AD Authentication Provider: 1.00.04

Version of AD Infrastructure: Windows 2003

IIS Version: IIS7 Server 2008

 

The Synchronizing of Roles is not working as anticipated.   

 

Admin > Authentication > Active Directory Settings: Synchronize Role? Is checked

 

Admin < Security Roles: “LEGAL” has been defined as a role.  Both public and auto are unchecked.

 

In MMC > Active Directory Users and Computers > DOM > Users > LEGAL (this Is the OU):  I do not have a pre-2000 name in there but the security role and OU are named exactly the same, including the case.

 

Is there anything I am missing….

The problem is that you're trying to synchronize to an OU which is not the same thing as an AD Security Group. The provider synchronizes to an AD Security Group.

Your right, sorry I am not a network administrator.  Within the OU I find items the type of security group.  Within them I find the group name (pre-Windows 200), these do match security roles.

It must've been a temporary glitch as they aren't now.

So now that you know what the groups are and they match the roles are they still not synchronizing?
