Mike,

I have been unable to step into the AD provider module when I am in the debug mode in VS 2008.

I have been encountering the following error:

At login.ascx.vb, line 224 character 9
The breakpoint will not currently hit. The source code is different from the original version.
To allow the breakpoint to be hit when the source code is different, ...

I have followed the instruction in the error but whenever I press F10, it steps into the login.ascx.vb in the

admin folder.

Please your assistance to get this debugging to work will be appreciated.

Are you debugging against the full DNN source code? i.e. you've loaded the source code and added the AD Provider project to it. Or did you just open the .sln file for the AD Provider?

Mike,

Yes, I have loaded the source code and added the AD Provider to it.

For your information, I installed the source zip of the AD provider module.

Okay.... I've had this happen to me before. One thing is that you don't need to run the DNN Source project in order to debug the AD Source code. You can just run AD Source solution.

Anyways, what I suspect is happening is that when the project is being built the AD providers .dll isn't getting copied properly to the <DNN_Source_Directory>/Website/bin/Providers directory. Take a look at the properties of the .dll and note the version #. Then build the solution and check either the timestamp on the .dll or the version #. The timestamp should be from when you built the solution and the version should be newer.

If you do it as a stand-alone solution (just the AD Provider loaded) you'll want to go into the project's properties and update the Web tab to point to your DNN install.
