We are thinking about replacing the default AspNetMembershipProvider and DNNRoleProvider with our custom ones to leverage the client's internal membeship database. My question is--does DNN (v4.9) actually use all of the methods implemented in these default providers or only a subset of them? If the latter is true, is there any good way to tell which methods being used and which aren't? We want to keep our custom providers lightweight and implement only those methods that are being used by the DNN (v4.9).

Thank you.

As far as I know it uses all of the DNNRoleProviders but I'm not 100% sure. I think the best course of action is to experiment with the custom one until it works.

Thank you for your replies guys.

Sebastian, our default DNN 4.9 install web.config file points to ASPMembershipProvider and DNNRoleProvider as default membership/role providers. My understanding these are the providers being used to manage membership/user data. Am I correct?
