Hello there

I've tried to update my running dnn 4.8 to 5.00. Unfortunately I'm not capable to get ActiveDirectory-Auth. working again. I installed the newest provider 1.0.4 and enabled it in the host-->extensions.

As soon as I try to set any settings in admin-->extensions an error apears below the settings telling me that der was not object reference to an object.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Ueli, I'll have to check the version of the provider that was supplied with the DNN 5.0.0 download. The initial version I had for testing was causing that error an I submitted a new one to the release tracker. Unfortunately it may not have made it into the final release. If it hasn't I'll get it up somewhere for download. In the meantime, could you right-click on the DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.dll in your bin\Providers directory and let me know what version number you're seeing?

Hi Mike

Thanks for answering.

Unfrotunately I only have a live version of my dnn and I had to undo my upgrade. So  I can't tell you what version I had initially.

But I tested the newest version on the downloadpage 01.00.04. The DLL in it has the Date Aug. 10th 2008 22:52 Version 1.0.4.62303.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Mike

I did some more research.

I've installed a completely new dnn with the install package. After that I had the AD-Auth Version 5.00.00 installed but still the error occured. So I deinstalled it and installed the newst version from your homepage.

The error diesapeared. The tool recognized my domain and got full access to LDAP and I could login with my AD-User with Internet-Explorer.

However I couldn't manage to get my AD-User authenticated with firefox (login failed). I enabled integrated windows authentication and standard authentication. With the old  version it worked with this settings.

When I upgraded my existing dnn,  AD-Auth Version 1.03.00 was installed. After I installed Version 5.00.00 from your homepage the site worked (except the thing with firefox).

There is an other question left: I used to autologin from all ips with the old version. Now I saw that it's possible to configure wich ips shall autologin. How can I tell the system to autologin from all ips?

So long

Ueli

Sorry Mike

False alert!

With the new version of dnn 5.00 and your newest ad-auth. system everything works just fine (autologin also).

With the upgrade-version I'm still stunggeling.

I'll keep you updated.
