Any luck replicating this issue? I am getting a bit more nervous now that I have the Critical Updates Availble on the top of my screen.

Other information. I did not uninstall the previous AD provider before installing the new one.

I get the same error message (Error: is current unavailable.), but it works.  I put in the AD credentials, and up top, I get the success message.  Everyone is able to log in.  I noticed that other users are having trouble with DNN5 + AD auto-login.  Luckily for me, everyone logs manually.  Since I'm the only one who sees the error message, I don't really mind that its there.

This is on a fresh install of 5.01.02 that I'm migrating 4.9.4 sites over from.  The AD throws the same error in 4.9.4--it complains, but still works.  At least DNN5 makes the setup much easier.  To get this working with 4.9.4, I needed to register the .Net 32-bit DLLs, run the app pool in classic mode, and change a few things in the machine.config.  DNN5 needed none of that fidgeting.

After the upgrade, I am unable to automatically login anymore and never get a login screen, just error pages after I log out. The only way I have to get back into the site is to visit my production site (which is on the same server and is working on v 4.9.2) This resets a cookie or something and I can get in to the test site again

Adrien, what error message do you get? What setup are you running? Have you reapplied your settings in the provider (under Admin->Extensions and click on the pencil beside the provider).

My setup (again)

IIS 6 (Windows 2003)

SQL Server 2000

DNN V 5.01.02 Upgrade from V 4.09.02

DNN_ActiveDirectoryAuthentication V 5.0.2

When trying to apply settings to the provider I get the error:

Error: is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.Settings.UpdateSettings() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I have removed, and reinstalled the module. without effect. I am simply unable to set the settings for the module.  If I click the logout link I only get a message "Windows Authentication Disabled, Please contact your administrator" I am able to access this DotNetNuke version by visiting my production version still running V4.09.02 which is on the same server to re-establish the authentication cookie.

I am trying to get this working so I can upgrade my production instance to fix the Critical issue discovered in DNN.
