Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this and sorry if it is. I am currently writing an ASP.net application from scratch and would like it to use a dnn database for the membership/roles/profiles/user details etc. I would also like it if a user could register/login from either site. Has this been done before? If so are there and articles or code samples out there?

Thank you

Yes, there are a number of ways that you can do this.  If you use DNN for the registration process, your other app can simply reference the same database.

You MUST be sure to have the same MachineKey values in both applications, as well as the proper application name for the ASP.NET membership, but it is pretty seamless.

If you want the other system to create users, it is a bit more involved, as DNN has some extra fields that need updated when creating a user.  (User, UserPortals, and UserRoles tables at minimum).
