Hi everyone -

have any of you ever seen a DotNetNuke user lost it's Display Name automatically or can be manually updated to one space blank?

It's happening in our application. The Display Name field is a required field and we made sure users provide a valid Display Name before allowing them to post anything. But in the end we found some users have their Display Name to be one space blank. We didn't find a quick way to reproduce it. So I suspect it's something going on in the back end that changed this.

 Are you using the standard DNN provider or have you added the AD provider or one of the other providers that are available. I'm just trying to narrow down where the focus should be.

I'm also getting blank display name with the AD provider.

I'm using DNN 5.2.0 and AD provider 5.0.2

Anyone have a solution?

Is this with all users Ming or only some?

Mike,

This is happening with the 3 users that I've tested with.

I haven't checked the AD object, but the User's table has only a "blank" in the DisplayName Column. If I try to edit the user through the Admin menu, it won't let me exit until I fill in a Display name.
