Hi,

I know that DNN permits auto login for users from Active Directory.

I want to know if it is possible the following scenario when I use Active Directory authentication:

I already set the portal to display only the login page for users who are not logged. The portal pages can be viewed only by users who are logged. In this case, is possible to have the following situation?

The portal should have auto login whenever the user who open the browser belongs to Active Directory. The portal will display the home page for these users.

If the portal is opened by a user that is not in Active Directory the portal should display the login page.  This case refers to any other computer from the world. This portal is public and any person from this world can access it. These users should type their username and the password in order to be logged. This username was recorded in the DNN database using the DNN registration form.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Doru

Yes it's possible. In the settings for the AD provider you would set the range of IP addresses that automatically login so that the computers on your domain get directed to the windowssignin.aspx (this does the automatic login). Other users (external to your network) don't get the redirection.

I have one more question.

Could you tell me the minimum DNN version where I can  implement this scenario?

Thanks,

Doru
