Hi to all,
I just found that a google gmail account can be used for register / login in dnn portals that have enabled the OpenID authentication system.

The endpoint url that must be used is: https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id.
It is the same for all gmail user.

Because, I guess, although Gmail is widely used, not many know this, would be useful to include an ImageButton with Gmail or google icon that directly redirect to this endPoint.

Likewise this guys do for their Facebook authentication provider.

What do you think?

Regards
Fausto

I agree that not everyone knows this, but the biggest thing is that Google isn't the only openid provider, there are actually numerous ones available..

I haven't tried it myself, are you tied down to one authenticator with OpenID?

Perhaps, the discriminant is the fact that google account is primarily a 2GB mail account, plus many other web apps, and only "incidentally" an OpenID.
So that, likewise facebook users, the majority of GMail users, not even know what an OpenID.

Anyway, not a bad idea to put a combobox with urls of most populars OpenID providers.

@Dan
No, I have enabled the dnn core OpenID authentication provider on my local  5.4 and tryed.

Now I'm confused... *grin* I guess I'll have to setup a test portal and see how this works.
