Hi,
I would like to replace or modify the "Forgot Password?" / Send Password functionality of the Login control.  Specifically, rather than emailing the forgotten password to the user, we plan to implement a temporary password system that requires custom logic (such as additional fields to validate against, temporary passwords expiring after 24 hours, etc.).  We have written our own authentication provider by which we can authenticate users based on temporary password.  Unfortunately, I have been unable to find a proper means of extending or otherwise hooking into the functionality already built into DotNetNuke for password recovery.  What is the recommended approach for building a custom password recovery solution?  Is a from-scratch password recovery module the best solution, or can the DotNetNuke framework be taken advantage of to accomplish this?  Thanks.

at present the forgot password functionality is built in and not exposed via a provider. I would suggest disabling it via the web.config and implementing your own custom code. Please feel free to add an enhancement request at support.dotnetnuke.com so it can be considered for a future version.

We'll move forward with our custom solution then.  Thanks for the quick response, it is appreciated :)
