Hi

I am looking for some help and advice regarding the use of email addresses within user profiles in dotnetnuke.

We are using Dotnetnuke for an Intranet site with Active Directory Authentication for users.

Some of our users that need to access the site do not have access to our internal email system. As such they will not have an email address that is automatically assigned to their user profile/account via Active Directory.

Is 'Email' a required field for all users? If so will it create an error for them if they try and access the intranet site?

Thanks

Vickie

Yes email is a required field but the AD provider will automatically put in an email account for them in DNN if it doesn't find one in their AD account. It's not a valid email but it will satisfy DNN and prevent errors. Oh, and users will be able to log in but you'll run into errors in other areas of the site (Role management is one I believe).
