Hi,

I've come accross an interesting situation where in a multi domain setting (e.g. domain1, domain2), where the site runs in domain1 and users from both domain1 & domain2 need access to the site.Two-way trust is setup between the 2 domains.

It works fine when users are directed to the WindowsSignin.aspx to authenticate. But in situations where the users are not directed to WindowsSignin.aspx and need to login using the form, users from domain1 can login fine, but users from domain2 cannot.

Has anyone else come accross this situation and found some way of enabling users from domains other than the one the site is running in to login using the form?

We are using DNN Pro 6.1.2 & AD auth 5.0.3.

Cheers Wayne

A little more information.

When trying to login using the login form the error message provided is the one for invalid username or password.

In the event viewer failed logins using the form are recorded, the content is the IP address and the server name.

For a successful login using for a user from domain2 using WindowsSignin.aspx it records the same as above, but also WindowsAuthentication: True

I'm intended to refresh our development instance and remote debug to see why it doesn't accept the password.

Hi Wayne

This is a known bug... (http://dnnauthad.codeplex.com/workitem/6984). I was planning on setting up a second domain at home last weekend but have been laid up with the flu since Friday. I've never setup a second domain in a forest before so it's all new to me. I may be back to ask you questions on how yours is setup.

Wayne, question for you. When your users from domain2 are logging in are they just entering their username or are they entering their credentials as domain2\username? I haven't had a chance to look at this yet but it's something that just occurred to me.

Thanks for the response Mike, hope your feeling better soon.

We've tried both with the domain prefix and without. Out of curiosity we also tried it with & without setting the default domain to domain2, but got the same result.
