I had autologin working fine a couple weeks ago and now all of a sudden new users are not auto logged in.  Typically a new user would access the site and after being challenged against AD, a new user account would be generated in dotnetnuke and then the user would get to whatever page they were trying to reach.  Now when they try to reach a page for the first time the browser just sits and processes the request with no error.  If I look at the security event log on the web server it shows the user being successfully logged in and then logged out over and over for thousands of times a sec.  Please help me figure out what is going wrong!

I am on version 06.01.04 (127) and using AD Auth Module 5.0.4

Thanks!

Lucas

I figured out my issue.  The logon page setting for the site was reset to the logon page and should have been set to none...I am not sure what changed this setting but there it is.  Once I changed this back autologon started to work again.

Thanks,

Lucas

Well once again I am back at this issue again.  Apparently the change from a login page specified to not specifying one was NOT the fix as I thought.  I can only assume that during my attempts to fix it, (rebooting, fiddling with authentication settings, permissions etc) it started to work again with no direct reason I am aware of.

I do believe that the issue is a permissions one though...that I am pretty sure of.  I am getting the event viewer messages as described earlier, however if I enable anonymous authentication for the dotnetnuke site and leave the auth settings of just windows authentication on the WindowsSignin.aspx file I no longer get the event viewer messages and instead get directed to the logon prompt for the dotnetnuke site.  If I try to login with any user account, even one I know that is already setup in the site and is working it doesn't error or nothing it just returns again to the logon screen.

Any help would be appreciated as my V.P. is wanting to debut the site to admin as a trial just prior to go live next week.

I have to say that this piece of the build has been the most difficult to get to work consistently.

Thanks!

Lucas

Lucas, what is your server OS? If 2008 or 2008 R2 what pipeline mode are you running the site under?

It is 2008 R2 with integrated pipeline .NET v4.0.  I followed the guide and ran the two commands indicated there in order to enable the use of the integrated pipeline.

Thanks!

Lucas
