Hello Everyone,

I was researching how to log in users via a web service, then log them into DNN and assign roles programmatically.  While in my research, I found I could use the portalroles cookie to do the roles. But in 6.2.3, cookies are no longer used for roles. Is there an easy way to use a token to log into DNN (the user will not be a DNN user), and then assign them roles programmatically?

Not really, you should create a user account for the user and assign roles to that user. You could create the user account on the fly for them though if needed.

Programmatic assignment of roles is easy using the RoleController from the API.

Thanks for the quick response! I've seen some examples of creating a user on the fly (here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... ) as well as some role stuff. I'll look into the API!
