Hi,

for some reasone the following error is written to the Eventlog up to 30times per hour:

Method: DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule.OnAuthenticateRequest

StackTrace:

Message: System.Exception: Unhandled Error: ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Authentication.ActiveDirectory.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule.OnAuthenticateRequest(Object s, EventArgs e) at System.Web.HttpApplication.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

I am not using AD-authentication. Any ideas where this message might originate from?

thanks in advance!

Michael, are you using the provider on any of your portals on this DotNetNuke install?

No, it was used quite a time ago but is now disabled. Do i have to uninstall the AD-Authentication provider?

Well, it sounds like even though it's disabled at least some part of it is being called. What version of DotNetNuke are you running and what version of the provider so that I can check it out? My thoughts at this time are because it writes lines to the web.config in the and sections that even when disabled it still loads part of the code.
