I'm moving a SharePoint site over to a private set DNN7. I have about 100 existing users that I have no way of getting their passwords. I don't want to bother them with setting a new password with this site migration and am not concerned about security. I just want these existing users to login with their email and use whatever password they come up with.

Setting minRequiredPasswordLength to 0 in the web.config just crashes the site.

i am going to assume that with Sharepoint they were using active directory authentication. Why not also use that for your DNN site? You can get the provider from here: https://dnnauthad.codeplex.com/

The project did offer that method to log in, unfortunately, there are several users with emails from all over the place.

hmm, in that case, just generate a random password for new users, and explain them how to get the password (do a "forgot password" request while logging on), and set for all users the option that they have to change the password after first logon.. That way, at least is everything secure. I am sure that your customer would value a more secure environment

mass reset might become tougher in DNN 7.1, where reset password links will be "time bombed"...
