I am currently running DNN 6.2.4 and using the glanton AD PRO SYNC module to grab user information from Active Directory into the DNN portal. At the same time I have set up AD authentication to allow users to automatically log into the intranet but the downfall is that duplicate users are being created when new employees visit the intranet for the first time. So now the DNN member module is displaying double users (1 from AD import and the other from when they visit)

Aside from turning off AD authentication/login . Is there a way I can make it so only the imported AD users are shown in the member directory?

Not out of the box (but this is to be expected as Im assuming the AD Pro Sync is essentially working around our API and likely doing direct SQL). Why do you have two users, does that tool generate new users or is it designed to update existing users whose accounts have been created by the AD provider?

Hi,

The tool generates and creates new users with just while the default DNN AD auth system creates and that is why duplicate users are showing up. Supposedly Glanton is releasing a new update where the module will support the domain\username format so that may fix the problem I am having... hopefully

Sorry some words got cut out.. The tool generates and creates new users with just "<username>" while the default DNN AD Auth system creates users with "<DOMAIN\username>"

id suggest you update the tool to merge the details with the valid AD generated users - at the end of the day you are using 2 products to synchronise users and they are using a different username for each, so DNN is working as expected, the best solution is to get the two tools to use the same "key" of username.
