I have installed the Portal Group editor and configured it following the PDF which was very straightforward.

https://dnnportalgroups.codeplex.com/

I am not, however, able to log into the other sites under this installation of DNN 8.  In fact, after logging off of the authentication site, I cannot even log into it as the host anymore.  Is anyone else able to use this with DNN 8 or higher?

While they have never had it before (our old stuff was very fragmented and very error prone), SSO would be oh so lovely.

Thanks!

JoAnn

JoAnn,

first of all: the SiteGroup Editor is not an official release from DNN but was an example for client side programming using Knockout.Js and the WebAPI based DotNetNuke Service Framework written by Stefan Cullmann and demonstrated at a DNN Connect meeting in 2013. It might be that some of the services accessed by this module have changed, but my hopes are small that the module will be updated somewhen.

The SiteGroup Editor ist just an interface to a functionality that is included in the core, but an interface was only delivered with the commercial products ("Evoq"). Anyway, the functionality is there, and if you want to use it you can do that without the SiteGroup editor as well. Thorsten Weggen wrote a blog about this a while ago: http://www.bitboxx.net/Blog/Post/191/...

Happy DNNing!

Thanks!

Yes, the product I work with at work has lots of goodies under the hood that are fun to access through unconventional means.

Thanks for the link.  I will look into it later today.  Setting up a new parent site and want to take it a step at a time.  If I can get this to work, then on to setting up Events to set up conference registration, otherwise, it will be just the conference registration and they will just have to create another account.

Thanks for all you do for us.

JoAnn

JoAnn,
I tested the SiteGroup Editor on a client site a few days ago and it worked as expected.
You need a regular domain address as auth domain (not a subdomain or local domain)

Cheers from Germany,

Thanks.  I am working on a local dev copy, so I guess I can just update my hosts file and pretend I am on the real site.

This helps!
