Hi,

I have literally read all the posts here in this forum. As I see it now, there isn't yet an Active Directory fix for the latest DNN. I have tried everything to get AD working and it does work, but with issues. Either you have it in mixed mode with issues, or you have it in windows mode with different issues.

The showstopper issue for windows mode being the one with multiple calls. Windows mode works great except when a new user tries to go to the site, and they are put in a loop.

In mixed mode has a few different issues that are time consuming as well, and I would much prefer windows mode since the security roles get auto populated.

Looks like the only AD fix available here is for DNN v. 3.3.5. That is such a shame that it hasn't been re-compiled for v435, as it is the newest version.

I was hoping to use the latest DNN for intranet use for over 800 users, and this has been very disappointing. Also I have noticed that the persons in charge for development of this module are not active in this forum for support.

DNN 4.3.5 is not newer than DNN 3.3.5. THe only difference between them is that the DNN3 version will run on the .NET 1.1 Framework while the 4.3.5 will only run on the .NET 2.0 Framework (okay that's probably not the only difference but it's the major difference). They were both released on the same day.

That said... I have mentioned in another post that I was planning on attempting to make the same changes to DNN 4 that slhilbert did for DNN 3 but you have to remember that neither one of us is part of the Active Directory project and any updates that slhilbert does and makes available for the rest of us to use is just his way of giving back to the community and I, for one, appreciate it.

Yes I do understand that 335 is for version 1.1 of the framework and that 435 is for version 2 of the framework, and they are both the latest versions. My apologies for my inexperience with coding as I would try re-compile if I could. My posting is merely explaining the issues I have observed when working with the AD module, plus I am a bit frustrated, wishing I could fix it.

I do appreciate your efforts with AD fix for 335, and I do hope that a fix for 435 will come soon, as my portal of 800 users is on hold until a fix can be done that works in 435. Thank you so much for your contributions and I do hope that the DNN developers recognize you for your efforts with the AD module, as the folks in charge of the project do not seem to be doing as much as you with these issues.

Thank you Mike H. I have downloaded it and will try immediately.

During my waiting time, I did try a development test install of DNN335 on the same server with my DNN 435 that was waiting for the ADfix.

I installed DNN 335 and added the ADfix for the 335 version, and was testing it all day.

Now I can test both development DNN portals with the ADfix for their appropriate version and let you know what I experience.

I will report my findings tomorrow.
