Hi all,

I am also looking for similar kind of problem.

How can I achieve single Sign on feature in DotNetNuke portal?

And another issue is how can I secure my database and IIS while working with DNN 4.x?

I am using ASP.NET 2.0 ,IIS 6.0 and SQL server.

while installing DNN 4.x it asked for so many permissions even at the time of running the same on a remote machine also IIS is not allowing netork users to run the application.

What to do in this situation ?  how can I configure my DNN portal with out loosing the security of database?

ThanX for the help

Jaya.

That is pretty much how windows auth works..... If you really want to us AD and require users to login, try LDAP http://www.codeplex.com/DNNLDAP/ but may need tweaking since it was made for a linux ldap server (Since AD is LDAP)

The Windows Authentication Provider is a single-sign-in type of solution, and is included with your DNN install, all you need to do is activate it.   Configured properly, it is just as safe (security-wise) as any other application.  Configure it according to the installation guide and it should meet your requirement.  You can make it more secure if you want, but should have a good understanding of Windows/IIS permissions before attempting it.

Edit:  I didn't realize the quoted post was that old, but it still applies...
