The first public release of the Gallery module (4.03.00) is currently at the testing state in the Release Tracker. You can monitor it's progress here:

As for a release date, it is difficult to say as it all depends on how quickly testing, etc. is completed. My guess - and only a guess - will be early to mid January unless major issues are found.

Thank you for keeping us informed.  I noticed the 3.x is now available for download again.  Will there be an upgrade path from 3 to 4.03.00?  I have a project that has been waiting on 4 for a long time at a risk of non-delivey.  It would be good to deliver with 3 then upgrade to 4....

There will be a upgrade path from 3.x to 4.3.0 Gallery, but the 3.x version is very bugy and only for use on a DNN 3.x version.  You would not be happy on using this version on a DNN 4.x or higher.
