Hello,

I was just wondering if there are any plans to add the ability to comment or rate photos in the upcoming release of the Gallery (or any future release)?

Also, I noticed that you can "enable EXIF" to view metadata, but is there any way to set the module to use the Exif comments in the photo by default?

Thanks,

Kev

Yes we will add new social features in version 5. Discussions are currently under way. I cannot disclose anything more, but you can probably expect to see that in Gallery this year.

Wow!  That is going to be great!

Sorry to sound like such a noob, but when it comes to dnn modules, does the first number in the version indicate which DNN version it will run on?  (So the gallery version 5.0.0 will only run on DNN 5?)

Also, is there any more news on the gallery 4 release?  I noticed that there hasn't been an update in the Status Report thread since January.

Thanks,

Kev

While it is often the case that the major version number of a module indicates that the module is targeted for DNN 3, 4, or 5, that is not always the case. Each module whether it be a DNN core module or a third party module must specify the MINIMUM version on which it will run. In the case of the DNN Gallery module, version 4.03.00 (as we think it will be designated when released)  will run on DNN 4.09.01 and above including DNN 5.00.00, 5.00.01 and above. The DNN Media Gallery module version 5.x which the team will begin designing from the ground up after the current version is released will run only on DNN 5.01.x and above.

During the required DNN release testing process a number of bugs and potential security concerns were found in DNN Gallery version 4.03.00. Most of these have been resolved at this time and are awaiting final testing and validation before the module is resubmitted to the release testing process. We also have a couple of issues to work out when the module is installed on DNN 5.00.00 or 5.00.01. We cannot give an estimate at this time when the module will be finally released.
