Finally, after many months (years, actually) of work, your DNN Media Gallery team has submitted the module package to the required DNN module  release tracker testing process tonight. With over 120 issues addressed with fixes and enhancements since the last official release (v 3.00.12) several years ago, the new v 04.03.00 has been undergoing beta testing by the DNN community for several weeks now. During that time there were over 360 downloads of the beta package and only two minor, reproducable issues were reported. Both of these have been corrected in the final version submitted to testing tonight.

How long will it be before the module passes through the testing steps and is released for use on production sites? We don't know . . . but for those interested in watching its progress through the release tracker can check here:

I just checked out the release tracker for this module, and it looks as if it's passed everything but the security audit, and then everybody went home for the Labor Day holiday!  (i.e. no activity since Aug. 27) 

I now have a DNN production site running DNN 4.6.2 with theold gallery module (and all photos showing, despite using friendly URL), and a test site on my laptop running DNN 4.9.4.  The old gallery module does NOT work on the 4.9.4 site, and I'm wondering - it sounds as though this version is pretty close to release.  Do you have an ETA for release yet?  Do you think I could take a chance on it?

Actually, the module has not yet passes any testing (other than package validation) and has been stalled since Aug. 27th in the release tracker. I have no further information on its progress nor can give you even a guess when it might be released.

The version submitted to the release process did have two fixes not included in the beta version: 1) Filenames beginning with an underscore character are now accepted and 2) Exception is no longer thrown when attempting to upload files to both a parent and child portal when both opened in same browser instance.

In adherance ot the DotNetNuke core module release policy I cannot recommend that you take a chance on using the beta version on a live production site until it has completely passed the release testing process.

Fair enough - just checking.  I obviously misread the release tracker entries.  I'll keep checking back in the forum to follow progress. Thanks for your reply.  I agree - I don't want to put the module in production until it's released; I was just wondering about playing with it on my test site.  I'm now thinking about not upgrading production to 4.9.4 until the new gallery module is available, since 4.6.2 is working very well for us right now, with the old gallery module.
