I installed the latest Beta tonight, and I can't seem to give upload permission to "Registered Users".  As HOST or ADMIN, I get the choices when the mouse is over the little icon, but as a REGISTERED USER, no options are presented.  The Feature Settings/Download Roles is set to "Registered Users".  The Admin role couldn't upload until I added "Administrators", so there's something fishy.

The roles selected in the configuration for Download Roles should have no effect on uploading. Upload permissions are controled only by

1) which roles have been given edit permission on the module itself and
2) if Is Private has been checked in the configuration settings and a gallery owner assigned then only that user (or admin) may upload, create albums, etc.

Sorry for the confusion on my part.  Maybe I need a different module, but what I "want" is a place where registered users can upload their own photos, view all photos, and not mess with the module itself.  Giving a user Edit permission means they can delete other user's images, delete the module, or change it's permissions.

I've used a free module called "User FIles" that almost works, but it requires administration to add new users.

The feature you missing is on the Roadmap of the next release.  We didn't do this in Gallery 4.3.0 about it needs a complete rewrite of the existing code.  This want be part of the next release, we go working on after we had passed the relaese process.  The next version will not come over a view months, about it will be a big work to change all the existing code, and let it compatible, to upgreade from 4.x version.  On my expirience I think we need as minimum one year or more. We will see.
