 Hi,

I am using DNN 4.9.4 and the latest Gallery beta.

The gallery module appears just fine on the page. I can create albums.

No pictures are being uploaded. No errors are spat out and it appears that it works. However, when I check the filesystem, no pictures have been uploaded.

Anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong?

Thanks,

Ted

Here are several possibilities:

A) Remember that adding pictures (and other media files) is a multi-step process:

  1. After navigating to the Add Files page of the gallery or child album, click on Browse and select a file to upload from your computer.
  2. Optionally fill in additional information about the media file.
  3. Click on Add File to add the selected file to the pending uploads list.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 if desired to add additional files to the pending uploads list.
  5. Click on Upload Pending Files to add the pending uploads to the gallery or child album.

I suspect that you may be missing step 5.

B) If Auto-Approval has been turned off in the configuration, files uploaded by a non-admin user will need to be approved by the admin user (or owner of a private gallery) before becoming visible in the gallery. Files requiring approval will, however, be found in the filesystem.

C) A bug in the 4.03.00 Gallery beta caused the failure to upload any filename beginning with an underscore character and did not display any error. It has been fixed in the version submitted to the DNN project release testing process.

Let me know if you are still having problems uploading files.

I assume that this is related to the known issue on the beta release with a Symbol like underslash or others in front of the file name or in there.  Try to rename the files without symbols.  The issue want to be fixed into the release version.

Also check your Hostsettings on the File Upload Extenstions of other settings if your file extentions are added.

Hi, thanks for the response.

I do steps 1 and 3 just fine. The file appears in the pending uploads list. When I do 5 (upload pending files), it proceeds normally and tells me that the file has been successfully uploaded. However, the file is not listed, does not appear in the album, and is physically not on the server.

Thanks,

Ted

Hi, thanks for your reply.

One filename is 'desert.jpg' which is about as basic as it can get.

I also double checked the host file extension settings and they allow 'jpg'

This is very strange...
