Gallery 04.03.03 Release Candidate (available in CodePlex project downloads at http://dnngallery.codeplex.com/releas...) passed the testing phase of the core extensions release tracker approval process on Jan 6, 2011, and is awaiting official release by the DNN Health Team. There will be no difference between the official release version and the 4.03.03 RC.  However, due to its very old design, legacy code, and lack of full XHTML compliance, Gallery 4.03.03 was not included in the yesterday's DotNetNuke framework release v 5.06.01 nor will it be included in future releases.

I have been working off and on on the design, entity classes and Visual Studio solution setup for an entirely new Gallery module for a couple of weeks now and will be pulling the Gallery project team (plus a few new volunteers) together once this groundwork is done. I will warn everyone, however, that as the new Gallery module will be built from the ground up using very little of the legacy code it will be a long time before its first release and most likely will look and function entirely differently than Gallery 4.x.

This is both good and bad news. IMHO i don't see why a new gallery should be build for DNN. There are some excellent ones available, for as low as 25$.

Thanks!

I installed the 04.03.03 RC2 module, and it worked perfectly!

Thanks for the quick response!

I installed the 4.3.3 Gallery.   I' ve got dnn 5.5.1   I created 2 different gallery pages.   One of them is  failing with the following exception when i press the edit or add album buttons:

A critical error has occurred.
Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed
.

I see all kinds of suggestions for that type of issue.   not sure where to go from here?   any help would be appreciated....

david, there seem to be file permission missing, please make sure, the windows account used by your your asp.net app pool has full permission for your DNN install directory and all subfolders.
