I'm having a little problem with the Album or File thumbnails displaying unless I select the refresh button. However, If I do this on the local server or from within the Intranet I'm unable to see the thumbnails from the Internet, or if I refresh from the Internet I'm unable to display the thumbnails on the local server or the Intranet.

Any help in resolving the issue would be very helpful. If the problem isn't within the Gallery setup can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm going to guess that you have two different names setup for your portal?  Or at least you are access the portal using two different names? 

eg.   From internal you are accessing it as   http://myserver/....

From the outside you are accessing it as:   http://www.mycompany.com/....

Unfortunately, there is an issue with the gallery module in that the first time the gallery is loaded (or refreshed) it caches the URL to use for the pictures based on what was requested.  So if you first go to the gallery (or refresh) from http://myserver/... and then try to access it remotely, if you look closely you will see that it is downloading the webpage from http://www.mycompany.com/.. but the pictures are still trying to be downloaded from http://myserver/... which doesn't exist on the internet.

Sorry, there isn't any fix for this right now.

FYI:  One solution for you would be to always access your DNN site from one address.  Such as your external address. Most firewalls will allow you to "loopback" from inside your network to the outside address of your firewall and then back in. 

Unless your like me and have a DLink 524 router with the latest 5.1 firmware in which they broke that feature... (worked in firmware 5.0)  sigh..
