I have tried uploading movies to the gallery however I get the error “.avi is not an acceptable file type.”

In the display settings the media extensions field is blank which I assume is the problem. How do I add file types?

Login in as host, go to Host\Host Settings\Advanced Setting\Other. There you will find the 'File Upload Extensions'.
