I operate an outdoor recreation site that has a mixture of kids and adults. Has there been a condieration for adding a bad word filter option?

Sorry, does that mean you would consider implementing a bad word filter?

Yes and no,

I have thought already about a bad word filter in the past, but I believe it is a good idea to implement a bad world filter in the core framework so that different modules can take care of that.

Currently the forum module has a bad word filter (this was the first module which has implemented it), if I implement another one in the blog module we have a second bad word filter, maybe Steve or anything else will implement a bad word filter in his/her module, we have a lot of bad word filter and you must do a lot of administration to sync all this bad word filters.

I will make a suggestion to the core team, that a global bad word filter will be implementedn (maybe in Lists), so that any module developer can use this for his/her module. If this will not be implemented in a near future, I will (must) have more thoughts in implementing a own bad world filter.

Sorry that I don't have a final answer for you now !
