I've installed the latest Blog Release on a DNN 4.4.1 portal.  I've had a previous blog on there from one user and the update went smoothly.  In fact we like the new format changes and the additions.

However there is an issue when another user tries to add a Blog module to their page.  When another user adds a blog, the first blog that was added to the portal poplulates the blog with their information.  If I goto Blog Settings and setup the parent blog for the new blog, then all of the other information disappears and blog module behaves normally.

Is this supposed to happen?  Am I missing something in the setup?

It's confusing users, because they are expecting a 'blank slate' when they add the blog module.

Thanks for you help.

Jerry,

Are they adding a new Child Blog? or did the click the Create My Blog link?

If the latter, then this should not be happening...

I'm trying to find the Create My Blog Link.  After I create a blog, I can figure out to create child blogs of that parent, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the page to display the Create My Blog Link again.  Can you please help me and is there any documentation anywhere that helps explains how to use the blog module.

Thanks very much for you efforts and your help, it's very much appreciated.

Jerry

Jerry,

The blog module allows only one PARENT blog PER user (and as many child blogs as users want).

The reason why you are no londer seeing the "Create My Blog" link is because you probably already have one.

Login with a user that you know does not have a blog, and you will see the link appear once again.

Hope this helps.

Okay, thanks for clarifying that for me.  I was getting myself confused I was logged in as host and as a test user,

Regarding the child blogs, Now I'm trying to setup another page, add the blog, and specify a child blog that is the default view for the page.  I see where I can specify other parent blogs from other users to be the default view, but no way specify a child blog of the current user.  Is this possible or can it be added to future releases?

Thanks for your help.

Jerry
