The Trackback URL and the Autodiscovery URLs seem to be different.  I tried to enter an issue in Gemini, but didn't realize that I don't have necessary rights to add issues.

Here's a Trackback URL from one of my posts.

http://metapost.itcrossing.com/DesktopModules/Blog/Trackback.aspx?id=75&blogid=20

And Here's the URL retrieved from the rdf:

http://metapost.itcrossing.com/desktopmodules/Blog/Trackback.aspx?id=75

This can be an issue if you're using a blogging tool which supports both autodiscovery and trackbacks.  I'm working on this feature right now for metaPost and I want to make sure that if a Trackback URL is inadvertenly entered into the Trackback field and a URL to the same post is included in the page that the duplicate is ignored.  In order to dedupe, these URLs need to be the same.

Don,

Please record any issues in the PUBLIC issue tracker @ http://support.dotnetnuke.com/project/Project.aspx?PROJID=23 . This is the area we allow the community to post into. From time to time the quality team and project leads check through the issues and get the relevant ones migrated into their project(s). This allows us to ensure that the actual issue log does not get corrupted with hundreds of duplicates and non-issues.

Very good.  Thanks for the reply.  I'll post in the public issue tracker as you suggest.

As one who is always thinking of ways to improve a system, I wonder if it would be easier for community members to find duplicates if they are posting project related issues in a repository limited to issues for a specific project.  One of the issue I face with the public issue tracker is that I'll have to wade through issues from the DNN core and all the projects to determine that I'm not repeating someone elses issue.

Thanks again,

Don

It would probably be a little easier if there were seperate public projects, but we're suffering from scalability problems with the support server already (personally i would prefer if we could have 1 repository for each and easy filtering of authenticated and unauthenticated issues, i hope gemini add this to a future version).

Note: the blog module is getting a major overhaul in it's next version, and will probably be the first module to build on lots of the social networking hooks that are being built into cambrian.

I would love to help out with that if there is a need for another developer on the Blog module team.
