Hi Dave,

unfortunately this would be useless: the next version will feature a completely new comments engine, that will include HTML check, custom name, hyperlinks, gravaters, etc. I suggest you to wait a little more and see if it meets your requirements.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

 Dario,

Ok, thanks for the info.  I assume that when the new module is released, upgrading will not affect my current database.  In other words, I won't lose any entries or comments, is that correct?

Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,

yes, this is one of the key features of any module update. The new release will update quickly, installing over the preceding one. The new features will be available both on new entries and on old ones: people coming to your blog will be able to add comments with a gravatar even to an old post.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

That's awesome, thanks for the info.  Any idea when the new version is going to be released?

Thanks,

Hi Dave,

the release process is on its way. You can follow the process in the release process page. During the prevoious submissions we experienced some delays, but now all the people involved in the process are pushing to speed up all the steps.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
