I'm posting this to see if you've handled the problem of splogging or spam blogging...

in other words, if this is a link then you are allowing links at least in your forums... I'll post a comment on one of your blogs to see if you can also splog there. It needs to be able to be turned off though - ie. to not allow href tags in a comment.

Hey there Coolmoose,

There is a big thread about this sort of thing over in one of the other forums.  It's probably something that needs to be changed in the core with an option to use it or not availble in the configurations of each module.

I did notice that they are implementing new security feature that shows you a picture of a bunch of numbers that you have to enter before you are allowed to post.  (Sorry, for the life of me I can't remember what that thing is called right now. ) :)  Check in the core team blogs I think it was Jon Henning that posted something about it.

I believe the term illuding you is CAPTCHA. It looks like the User Module will have CAPTCHA (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryId/386/Default.aspx) but I didn't see anything on the site about using it anywhere else.

yep that's the word I was thinking of.  :)

If I understand the blog post it's going to be part of the user module but since it's also part of the core it will be availble to every module that wants to use it.  It will be as simple as adding another control to the module.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I expect there will be CAPTCHA enhancements to the blogs, forums, gallery, wiki, and who knows what else soon after it's released.
