I'm just starting to use this Blog-module (03.05.00) within DNN 4.8.2.

I want to setup some Blogs, some with the option of posting comments anonymously and some without.

How is this done?

The option of posting comments -with the option 'anonymously'- is only possible in the main settings.

If I turn off the post comments on a particulair blog, it is still possible to post comments (so this doesn't overrule the main settings).

If I turn it off in the main settings, then I can not activate it (anonymously!) on a particulair blog (it does overrule but I don't have the option 'anonymously').

Any ideas?

Hi Bemoo,

anonymous comments are comments left by users who are not registered or not logged in the portal. You can allow/disallow these users to leave comments separately on each blog. This setting is available only in Blog Settings, and there's not a main setting for this e.g. in Module Options.

To allow/disallow anonymous comments, each blogger can login, goto Blog Settings and check/uncheck Allow anonymous users to post comments. This will never affect other blogger's preferences. Note also that when adding a blog entry, on the very bottom of the page you'll be able to overrule the comment policy only for that entry. When adding a new entry remember to check if this option is checked or not depending on your preferences.

Let me know if this clarifies your dubts, and/or if you need any help in troubleshooting the comment policy on your install.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Hello Dario,

Thank you for your quick response.

With main settings I mean the Blog settings (so I was looking in the right place).

However, I thought the administrator takes care of the Blog settings and each blogger can setup his own Blog entry.

This said, I can activate or de-activate the comments-option on blog-entry level but can not choose anonymous or not (And this comments-setting doesn't overrule the Blog setting). On the Blog settings, I can not activate Anonymous without activating Comments.
