I'm using the latest version of everything.

I had a blog entry from a few days ago and wanted to see which date was posted in the blog listing, the date the entry was created or the date it was last edited.

I then logged into my site, clicked the blog entry, clicked the edit link, clicked the update link but noticed it was still loading the FCK editor (which is horribly slow to load by the way).  I then clicked the update link again after the background of the editor loaded.  I was scrolled down and didnt' notice that the blog entry loaded with NO TEXT.  The result was it saved a blank blog entry and the original content (lots) was lost.

This should of course never happen.

If you need any more info let me know.  Otherwise, I now have no confidence in the latest version and will at the very least be treading very carefully for a while.

From what you describe it sounds like it came down to unlucky timing between your EDIT and UPDATE clicks.  If this was the cause then the issue is not relegated only to the latest version of the Blog module (it probably could happen with any version).

Perhaps now would be an appropriate time to visit Gemini and formally request that a "revision history" option be added to the module that would allow blog owners to configure a "save X revisions" setting in order to revert to previous entry versions if so desired.

Here's the Gemini page for the Blog module:  http://support.dotnetnuke.com/project/Project.aspx?PROJID=29

I agree, I'm pretty sure this isn't a 3.5.x issue.

Hi BBJones,

if you are aware of the security issues that may arise, you can always increase the timeout delay, althought this is not a suggested pattern.

Best regards,
Dario Rossa
