I just installed the newest version of the blog module. From the installed server itself (not a remote connection), I get this message. The installation of this module went without any errors. This message appears before I make any blog entry. Other modules (survey, announcements, marketplace) run without any problem. fyi, sql is set to allow remote connections.

Thanks.

Hi Kswanzei,

could you check if both the connection strings are correctly set up in the web.config_

Best regards,

Thank you for your response.

Excuse my ignorance, but could you be a little more specific? What both connection strings are you referring to? In the blog portion? What two connection strings am I comparing?

thanks for your patience.

Are you referring to the configsection and appsettings sections? My web.config has the following:

  <connectionStrings configSource="connectionstrings.config" />
  <appSettings>
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2005 Express - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules   -->
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Database.mdf;" />
    <!-- Connection String for SQL Server 2000/2005 - kept for backwards compatability - legacy modules
    <add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Server=abcde\fghij;Database=admin_mssql027;uid=5df2;pwd=xxxx"/>

...and my connectionstrings.config file has the following:

 <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Server=abcde\fghij;Database=admin_mssql027;uid=5df2;pwd=xxxx;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
  </connectionStrings>

If this is what you are referring to, I think they are set up equally in both sections. I am still getting the same message though.
