I am running DNN 4.8 and Blog v. 3.4

I have been having difficulties with setting up the blog module, and thus far this forum has been extremely helpful.

First off, the actions menus aren't displaying text for Blog Module specific functions.

Secondly, when I go to Module Options, I get this:

Thirdly, I am getting an error underneath the captcha when i have comments enabled (also, I cannot disable captcha):

I have a feeling that these problems stem from a database issue, but any help you can offer would be appreciated!

Hi Flyingbuttress,

my feeling is that this is not related to a database issue. Can you switch back to the default skin and check if the error persists? I guess that it is something with your skin styles.

Regarding the Module Load Exception, could you post the entire stack trace that was logged into the Event Viewer?

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Hi Flyingbuttress,

regarding the issue with the menus, could you check that language files are present/up-to-date in the DesktopModules/Blog/App_LocalResouces folder?

Regarding the error, could you please verify that the entry you are accessing (/Home/Blog/tabid/100/EntryID/1/Default.aspx) really exists in the database?

Best regards,
Dario Rossa

Dario,

Thank you so much for your help so far; I was able to fix the menu problem by uploading the App_LocalResources folder (the installer failed to upload it).

For the other thing, I checked the database, and both the blog and the entry show up in the Blog_Blogs and Blog_Entries tables.

Any further help you could provide would be much appreciated!

Cheers!

John
