Hi all!

I have a fresh install with the latest version of community edition and I have a problem with the blog module.
When I want to add a new entry and use the default editor (I think it's telerik), the portal doesn't add a new entry and there are no error messages or other, simply can't submit an entry.
I changed the default editor in the web.config to FckHtmlEditorProvider and it works now fine.
Do you have any idea why I can't use the default TelerikEditorProvider?

Unfortunately, this is something that I cannot reproduce.  Are there any other factors that are in the way?  Do you have any non-standard modules, configuration settings, or anything that might be getting in the way?

Hi Will!

I don't think if there ary any other factors. I also tried with a fresh install (custom install, installed every optionals and using sql server enterprise, default language, no additional modules) and there is a same problem. When I choose Basic Text Box radiobutton, DNN saves the new entry correctly but when I use the default Rich Text Editor there is no error message and no new entry. I checked my database and no entry row.
I now go for a week but after I make a new clean portal with a test blog page and you can try this next week if you want.

I tried to recreate this again with no success.  I installed DNN CE 05.04.04.  Installed the blog module.  Added a new entry using the basic text box.  Looked good.  Added an entry using rich text box.  Looked good.  Added another entry, switching back forth from basic to rich text and it maintained my text.  Perhaps I am not understanding, but I cannot recreating this issue.

Hi all. I have the same exact problem. Fresh install of DNN CE 5.05.00 (653) and Blog 4.00. When I put a blog module on a page, create a blog, and try to post an entry in the default configuration (rich text editor), I get two behaviors: 1. If I save the post as a draft, I get an error message as follows:

A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

2. If I save the post and publish, I get no error, but I get no post either. It just fails silently.

If, however, I switch to the "Basic Text Box", everything works fine.  For now, I can make do with the basic editor, but at some point my users are going to complain about lack of rich editing. Any ideas? I can give a temp admin login to the site if you want to see the problem in action.
